An irrigation drain down or winterization is completed by the Pacific Lawn Sprinkler Team in the late fall or early winter- November through January. It is important to drain your irrigation system before the cold weather and freezing temperatures occur, to reduce the risk of damage to your lawn sprinkler system’s components and piping. If water freezes in the sprinkler lines or backflow, it can cause the irrigation lines to break or the backflow to crack. This service needs to be performed by not only a trained lawn sprinkler technician, but it requires the correct use of specialized equipment. All of the people on the Pacific Lawn Sprinklers Service Team are trained in the proper procedures to winterize and blow out any size underground lawn sprinkler, garden, or drip irrigation system.

• 1. Your prescheduled appointment will be either sent to you on a postcard or emailed to you
• 2. You will be reminded of this appointment between 24-48 hours before
• 3. A uniformed Pacific Lawn Sprinklers technician in a trade marked “Bright Yellow” service vehicle will arrive at your home within the time window of your scheduled appointment. They will have the proper equipment and knowledge to perform the correct procedures to shut down and winterize your home’s lawn and garden irrigation system.
• 4. Your lawn sprinkler’s main water service or well supply will be shut down or disconnected.
• 5. Pacific’s technician will use compressed air to clear out any water that is in the backflow or manifold

• 6. We will locate the backflow device and cover it with an insulation backflow protection system (additional cost) and will install a freeze sensor to ensure your system does not water during colder temperatures (additional cost)
• 7. The irrigation technician will cycle through all of the zone valves to ensure they are not under any pressure, and release as much excess water in the valves as possible
• 8. And finally, we will check the irrigation drip zones and drain the lines and filter
