NEVER Lock in & NEVER Pre-pay!

NEVER Lock in & NEVER Pre-pay!

How many people out there like to sign long term service contracts and pre-pay for yearly services? Over our years in business, we at Pacific Lawn Sprinklers have learned that clients do NOT like to lock into maintenance service contracts or pre-pay for services. We can understand why- service contracts often have exclusions and stipulations, you can end up paying for services you don’t actually need, and the level of quality customer service usually decreases over time. Maintenance service contracts often include spring turn on and winterization visits, monthly inspections and service visits.

Is your Drinking Water Protected?

Is your Drinking Water Protected?

A backflow prevention valve on a lawn sprinkler or drip irrigation system can come in many types and brands. Each device offers an additional level of protection against the possible chance of the irrigation water from backing up into and contaminating your domestic drinking (potable) water. More and more frequently, water companies are mandating that the backflow preventer on your irrigation system be tested once a year to ensure its proper operation.

Have my Sprinkler Spring Turn on Completed by the Professionals, or do it Myself?

When Should I Turn On My Sprinkler System?

As spring begins, it is once again time to turn on your lawn sprinkler system! Of course the BEST time for a spring start up is weather related and varies year to year, but anytime from the end of March right through May can be the best time to have your lawn and garden irrigation system activated. Spring Startups are also known as “Summerizing”, “Water Sprinkler Turn-On”, “In ground Sprinkler Start Up” and “Sprinkler System Set Up”.

During the winter season, some climates experience freezing temperatures and snow, which can be harsh on your lawn sprinkler system’s components. The earth could have shifted, pipes could have cracked or corroded, and fittings could have come loose. Before you schedule your spring start up, you want to make sure that the ground is no longer frozen and is frost free.

During a spring start up, your professionally trained Pacific Lawn Sprinklers service technician will follow a 10 Point Checklist and carefully go through your entire irrigation system. This includes opening the supply valves and pressurizing the supply lines, inspecting the main lines, backflow devices, valve manifolds and water mains for leaks, checking heads and emitters for proper operation and direction, and setting the control timer.

The best time to turn on your sprinkler will also depend on when you are having new landscaping/ plantings done. We always suggest to have your spring turn on completed BEFORE you have landscaping and plantings done to ensure that your new grass, flowers, and gardens will receive water immediately after planting. New landscaping can die in just a couple days if it is not properly irrigated, and must receive the correct amount of water to thrive. Once plantings are completed, Pacific can always come back for seasonal head tweaks and adjustments, but you want to be sure your landscaping is being watered immediately.

So, now, are you ready to schedule your lawn sprinkler turn on? Pacific Lawn Sprinkler’s Service Department is ready to schedule your appointment! Please schedule an appointment conveniently online or give us a call at 888-438-7224.

Happy Spring!
