Cranberry strains developed by Rutgers are being grown globally

It may be a side dish at your Thanksgiving feast, but Rutgers University researchers have been working for a long time to develop the ideal cranberry for that sauce. Rutgers professor Nicholi Vorsa, director of the Phillip E. Marucci Center for Blueberry and Cranberry Research and Extension in Chatsworth, says the half-dozen cranberry varieties that they are distributing around the country and around the world have been 30 years in the making.

Beloved Pinelands general store now for sale

Owner Marilyn Schmidt bought the Chatsworth General Store - long known as Buzby's - when she was 70. Schmidt, an author and artist, is now 87 and in failing health, so has decided to sell. R. Marilyn Schmidt, who rescued a Pinelands institution and has become one herself, is selling her beloved business and moving on.

Pacific Lawn Sprinklers is READY FOR SPRING!

To say that Pacific Lawn Sprinklers is ready for the 2018 Spring Season would be an understatement! Earlier this month Pacific held their annual team meeting for all office staff and technicians, and what a turn out it was! There was a sea of blue “Pacific” shirts in their Queens training facility, with over 100 people in attendance. Further, the parking lot was full of their bright yellow service trucks. The energy level was high, as all team members were eager to get back to work and continue doing what they do best – offering unmatched, “ON TIME OR ON US” customer service.
