Union County grant aims to update county playgrounds for children with disabilities

UNION COUNTY -- Though Nicole Horton loves being outdoors with her son, she rarely can go because most of the parks in her Union Township neighborhood aren't accessible for her 6-year-old son Aiden, who has cerebral palsy and is restricted to a wheelchair "He weighs 55 pounds now, so pushing him around putting him on a slide, pushing him down and picking him up again isn't an easy task," Horton said of her son, Aiden. A new county grant program is expected to make it easier for children like Aiden and their parents to enjoy Union County parks.
